Bending machines for special applications

The Wende-Mat is a measuring and control device for efficient and precise production of bent handrails for spiral staircases and helical stairs.

Function:

The accuracy of a tube helix depends on the bending radius and the rotation of the tube in relation to the rolled length.

The bending radius of the tube is achieved by adjusting a roller. The achieved bending radius can be easily determined using a radius measuring device or the arc height. If the bent tube is lifted on the exit side of the machine during the bending process, this creates a tube helix. In the past, lifting the tube helix was often left to the operator’s feel and experience. The accuracy of the bending results with this

method leaves much to be desired in most cases. The result is expensive rework or repeated remanufacturing of the tube helix.

The Wende-Mat puts an end to this.

The functionality is as simple as it is ingenious. Operation is child’s play.

The Wende-Mat consists of an electronic control unit as well as an electronic measuring system for measuring tube rotation and an electronic measuring system for measuring the rolled length. During the bending process, the Wende-Mat continuously measures the rotation and feed of the tube. Deviations from the target value are indicated to the operator by means of a “traffic light” (these are vertically arranged signal lamps) Red / Yellow / Green / Yellow / Red. When the rotation is set exactly, this is indicated by a green signal lamp. No further correction is necessary. If a yellow or red signal lamp lights up, correction must be made. The production of the helix is precise and extremely efficient. The machine does not need to be stopped during the bending process.

Helical scrap is eliminated. Every helical handrail fits.
