R-Control* fully automatic radius measurement
The bending machine that bends, measures, and corrects fully automatically. With R-Control, this wish has come true.
Provided the quality of the profiles to be bent is consistent, tubes and profiles can be bent with high precision and productivity using a one-time specified NC program.
In practice, however, consistent quality of the delivered profiles cannot always be guaranteed. Variations in the shape, hardness, and elasticity of the profiles lead to deviations in the bending result, which must be corrected at great expense. The required manual measurement and correction process often causes significant time and cost expenditures.
The new revolutionary R-Control measurement and control system significantly automates and streamlines the measurement and correction process. Deviations are detected and automatically corrected. Compared to manual measurement and correction, productivity is many times higher.

CNC-controlled support rollers / 3D bending
Three-dimensionally bent profiles are often required in bodywork and cabin construction. RB type profile bending machines are also up to this challenge. Equipped with two vertically operating CNC support rollers, square tubes or special profiles can also be bent three-dimensionally.

3D and helix monitor
With the 3D and helix monitor, you can produce handrails for spiral staircases efficiently and precisely.
By lifting the bent pipe section, a rotation of the pipe is created, which is electronically recorded and evaluated.
Via a visual display (bar graph), the operator receives immediate feedback as to whether the rotation of the pipe, and thus the pitch of the spiral handrail, corresponds to the specification or whether the setting needs to be corrected.
Furthermore, the system can be used to bend 3D contours with pipe rotation. The setpoint and actual value of the pipe rotation are displayed on the operator terminal.
Deviations from the setpoint are recognized immediately and can be corrected straight away.

Spiral bending

The production of heat exchangers is possible without any problems with an RB type profile bending machine.
RB type profile bending machines can be equipped with mechanical, hydraulic, or CNC-controlled spiral bending devices.
Profile bending with DBE mandrel bending device
To prevent excessive deformation of hollow profiles, it may be necessary to support the hollow chamber from the inside during the bending process, depending on the profile geometry and bending radius.
In practice, the hollow chambers are often filled with sand, plastic filler strips, or low-melting metal alloys for this purpose. This involves high effort and costs.
When using a mandrel bending device, the profile is pushed onto a mandrel. The mandrel supports the profile from the inside and prevents excessive deformation of the hollow chamber. The time-consuming filling of the profiles is eliminated, the bending process is simplified, and significantly higher productivity is achieved.
Thoman offers mandrel bending devices in both passive and active versions with a servo boost system.

Profile bending with DBE-SERVO 50 mandrel bending device
In 3-roll section bending with a mandrel, a mandrel stabilizes the profile from the inside. The friction on the mandrel creates a force opposite to the feed, which can lead to the profile not being conveyed or the rollers slipping.
With the mandrel bending device with active boost system, the profile is pushed in addition to the roller drive. Slipping of the rollers is prevented and very small bending radii can be achieved with minimal profile deformation.
